About Caribbean Port Day
Caribbean Port Day answers one question for cruise passengers: what can I do with my hours in port today, and will I be back on time?
Every day a small script reads the public cruise ship schedules that ports publish and allow us to use (Aruba Ports Authority, APIQROO (Quintana Roo port authority) and Barbados Port Inc.), adds an estimate of how many guests are ashore based on ship capacity, pulls the weather forecast from MET Norway, and rebuilds this site.
Where a port has no schedule we may read automatically, we publish a port guide only and say so on the page. We do not copy schedules from sites whose terms forbid it.
The 3D island maps use coastlines from OpenStreetMap (© OpenStreetMap contributors, ODbL).
It is made by a sailor who lives aboard in Aruba. Local tips are checked where we can; tips we have not confirmed yet carry a being verified label.
Limits
- Port schedules are provisional and can change at short notice.
- Guest numbers are estimates from ship capacity, not actual counts.
- Your ship's all-aboard time is what counts. Always check it in your daily programme.
