The wild east coast from the Cozumel cruise port
The windward side is almost undeveloped: rocky coves, surf and a few simple beach bars. Strong currents make most of it unsafe for swimming; Chen Río has a sheltered cove. Best combined with Punta Sur in a rental car or on a taxi tour.
How much time do you need?
Plan 4 hours for the whole trip, travel from and back to the ship included. Add a safety margin of about an hour and a half before your ship leaves: you want a port stop of at least 5.5 hours to do this without stress. Your ship's all-aboard time is what counts.
